Addiction Medicine Physician Reviewer

Job Summary

To support quality healthcare initiatives, the independent contractor Addiction Medicine Physician Reviewer will conduct remote, evidence-based peer reviews of clinical cases, focusing on medical necessity and standards of care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct objective peer reviews of clinical cases and make determinations regarding medical necessity and quality of care
• Ensure reviews are fair, unbiased, and aligned with current standards of practice, submitting them in a timely manner
• Utilize clinical expertise to evaluate cases related to medical or behavioral health conditions under review

Required qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
• Board certification through a recognized medical board is required (if applicable)
• At least five years of full-time equivalent clinical experience providing direct patient care
• Experience in direct patient care within the past three years
• Active engagement in direct or virtual patient care for a minimum of 20 hours per week
