Adjunct Biology Faculty
Job Summary
To support UNE's online programs, the part-time Adjunct Biology Faculty will provide expert instruction in Biology I, guide students through their educational experiences, and engage with the online course portal regularly while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate class instruction and maintain engagement in the online course portal a minimum of 5 times per week
- Provide timely responses to student inquiries within 24 hours and host at least one hour of virtual office hours weekly
- Mentor students and create a positive educational environment to enhance student retention and success
Required qualifications
- Master's degree in Biology or a similar field; PhD preferred
- A minimum of three years teaching experience in Biology
- Experience teaching online and expertise in curriculum development and assessment
- Familiarity with the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management system preferred
- A passion for motivating and encouraging students in academic and professional settings
