Job Summary

A company is looking for an Adjunct Instructor for Online Education specializing in Middle Eastern History.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Middle Eastern History, focusing on topics such as social, political, religious, and intellectual history of the region
  • Provide instruction on topics including western imperialism, modernization, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the emergence of political Islam
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment that welcomes all students

Required Qualifications:
  • PhD or Master's Degree in History with significant graduate coursework in Middle Eastern History
  • Expertise in areas such as social, political, religious, and intellectual history of the Middle East from the 1700s to the present day
  • Knowledge of tensions between reform and purifying impulses in Islamic religious currents
  • Familiarity with the historical context for the emergence of political Islam
  • Understanding of the Arab-Israeli conflict and western imperialism in the Middle East
