Job Summary
To support the educational mission, the part-time Adjunct Instructor - North Carolina will teach live, online synchronous and asynchronous courses in Information and Library Science, following a standardized syllabus and engaging students in discussions while providing feedback on their work.
Key responsibilities
- Follow a standardized course syllabus and utilize pre-developed instructional materials for each course
- Engage students in discussions and help them apply new knowledge to real-world problems
- Provide feedback on student work and maintain regular communication with the ILS Division Chair regarding student experiences
Required qualifications
- Earned doctorate or terminal degree in a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in teaching or significant professional experience in the relevant field
- Strong communication skills, particularly in managing group discussions
- Strong writing skills with experience in providing feedback on written assignments
- Experience teaching in higher education is preferred
