AI Data Ingestion Engineer
Job Summary
To support the onboarding of government financial datasets into a modern data platform, the remote contract AI Data Ingestion Engineer will develop Python-based ingestion pipelines using FastAPI and PostgreSQL, leveraging AI-assisted tools to ensure high-quality data ingestion solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and validate Python-based ingestion pipelines for importing various government financial datasets into a PostgreSQL-backed platform
- Utilize Claude Code and pre-defined Skills templates to build and refine ingestion scripts efficiently
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure the delivery of clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Required qualifications
- Strong Python development experience
- Experience with Claude Code or AI-assisted software development tools
- Proficiency in building applications and APIs using FastAPI
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, including data ingestion and transformation
- Experience in building or supporting ETL and data ingestion pipelines
