AI Development Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely or from the Waltham, MA HQ, the full-time AI Development Engineer will build and deploy MCP servers, develop intelligent agents for managing petabyte-scale data, and provide technical support to customers in complex environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build and expand MCP servers for LLM-powered workflows and develop intelligent agents for storage metadata management
• Create workflow automation and chat-based interfaces for querying Starfish data, turning proof-of-concept implementations into production-grade features
• Support customers with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of AI features, translating technical requirements into functional solutions

Required qualifications

• Solid understanding of agent architectures, prompt engineering, and tool-use patterns
• Hands-on experience with local/open-source LLMs, including deployment and tuning
• Proficiency in Linux environments and command-line debugging
• 2+ years of Python development experience with real shipped code
• Experience with REST APIs and integration patterns
