AI Engineer
Job Summary
To support an external software development organization, the remote Applied AI Engineer will build and operate AI capabilities across an enterprise platform, focusing on production AI systems that meet real operational needs.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement AI workflows, including agent runtimes, model routing, and evaluation frameworks
- Monitor production AI behavior and optimize systems based on performance metrics and client feedback
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure AI solutions are reliable, safe, and cost-effective
Required qualifications
- Experience shipping software backed by LLMs, ML models, or agentic workflows to production users
- Strong understanding of RAG, prompt design, and evaluation approaches for AI systems
- Proven ability to build guardrails and controls for AI systems, addressing risks and failure modes
- Strong software engineering skills with experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Ability to prioritize business value and deliver useful AI capabilities quickly and responsibly
