Job Summary
To support an external software development organization, the remote Applied AI Engineer will build and operate AI capabilities across an enterprise platform, focusing on production-quality systems that integrate seamlessly into operational workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI capabilities including agent runtimes, model routing, and evaluation frameworks for production use
- Monitor and improve production AI behavior based on rigorous evaluation and evidence
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to determine optimal AI solutions for client needs
Required qualifications
- Experience shipping software with LLMs, ML models, or agentic workflows to real production users
- Strong understanding of RAG, prompt design, and evaluation approaches
- Proven ability to manage cost, latency, reliability, and safety as engineering constraints
- Experience in building guardrails and controls for AI systems
- Strong software engineering skills with a collaborative approach in client-facing environments
