AI Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Leading a hybrid full-time team, the Engineering Manager, AI will manage the engineering team responsible for building and scaling PermitFlow's core AI infrastructure, focusing on technical execution and people leadership to enhance automation in construction permitting.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and grow the engineering team to improve ownership, quality, and execution speed of AI systems
- Own the technical architecture for workflow agents, ensuring reliability and performance standards are met
- Collaborate with the Product Manager, AI to define and build systems that meet release criteria for AI submissions
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 1 year in an engineering leadership role
- Experience building or shipping production AI/agentic systems, including infrastructure ownership
- Familiarity with evaluation infrastructure, such as golden data sets and online monitoring
- Strong fundamentals in system design and architecture
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and execute structured solutions
