AI/ML Applied Scientist

Job Summary

To support innovative AI initiatives, the full-time remote AI/ML Applied Scientist will develop and implement cutting-edge machine learning models, focusing on responsible AI practices and enhancing LLM capabilities while collaborating with a team of experts.

Key responsibilities:

• Developing new solutions and best practices in Responsible AI
• Researching, designing, and implementing scalable machine learning solutions
• Collaborating with the Optum AI team to advance AI/ML projects

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer science, Machine Learning, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or another STEM discipline
• 3+ years of experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
• 2+ years of experience applying machine learning in natural language processing (NLP) or other AI domains
• 2+ years of experience in Generative AI and fine-tuning LLMs
• 1+ year of research and development experience in AI/ML
