AI Research Engineer

Job Summary

To shape the next generation of AI agent infrastructure, the full-time OpenShell Research Engineer will translate groundbreaking AI research into secure, production-grade systems while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Track advancements in agentic systems and evaluate their relevance for OpenShell
• Bridge research and product by identifying and translating research ideas into concrete product opportunities
• Build rapid prototypes and design evaluation systems to enhance agent reliability and security

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in research engineering, software development, or a related technical field
• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong background in turning complex research into reusable products or production systems
• Deep experience in areas such as LLMs, multimodal generative models, or adversarial ML
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent technical investigations and communicate findings effectively
