Job Summary
Serving as a senior advisor, the full-time remote AI Subject Matter Expert will support the Veterans Health Administration's National Artificial Intelligence Institute by developing AI risk management playbooks, advising on AI strategies, and translating federal AI policy into actionable guidance for healthcare innovation.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the senior AI technical advisor to the VHA National AI Institute, focusing on AI inventory, risk management, and enterprise strategy
- Author and maintain AI risk management documentation to help AI use case owners meet federal requirements
- Advise on the development of AI risk management plans and support business units in creating AI innovation strategies
Required qualifications
- Over 15 years of experience in the life sciences industry, with significant focus on data science and AI solutions
- Doctorate degree in a computational, data science, health informatics, clinical, or life sciences discipline
- Experience leading efforts to aggregate and analyze health information across various data types
- Proven experience developing processes and solutions leveraging machine learning algorithms
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation as per VA requirements
