AIX Expert Systems Engineer
Job Summary
As a remote AIX Expert Systems Engineer, the full-time position will manage the architecture, engineering, and optimization of IBM AIX and Power Systems environments, providing expert guidance on complex platform decisions and large-scale migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical owner and subject matter expert for IBM AIX and Power Systems platforms, defining architecture standards and best practices
- Lead AIX OS lifecycle management, including upgrades and migrations, while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery strategies
- Drive automation initiatives for AIX operations, developing automation frameworks to enhance platform reliability and reduce manual effort
Required Qualifications
- 12-15+ years of hands-on experience in IBM AIX and Power Systems
- Expert-level knowledge of AIX OS administration, PowerVM, and pSeries architecture
- Strong expertise in SAN storage, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Proven experience leading large-scale migrations and transformations
- Advanced shell scripting and automation skills
