AIX Systems Administrator

Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced Senior AIX Systems Administrator, this full-time remote position will manage the administration, maintenance, security, performance, and availability of IBM Power Systems and AIX environments that support critical banking applications, while participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation for operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot IBM AIX operating systems across various environments, including production and disaster recovery
• Manage IBM Power servers and perform hardware maintenance, configuration, and capacity planning activities
• Ensure compliance with banking regulatory requirements and implement security hardening and vulnerability remediation processes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Systems engineering or programming, or a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience
• 10+ years of enterprise-level AIX administration experience in mission-critical environments
• Expert-level knowledge of IBM AIX 7.x and IBM Power Systems (Power9, Power10)
• Strong Unix Shell Scripting expertise with the ability to develop and troubleshoot automation scripts
• Experience supporting systems within highly regulated industries, preferably banking or financial services
