Job Summary

Responsible for underwriting mortgage loans remotely, the full-time Alabama Licensed Mortgage Underwriter will evaluate conventional residential loans to ensure compliance with investor guidelines and federal regulations, while also addressing post-closing issues and expediting loan closings.

Key responsibilities:

• Underwrite conventional residential mortgage loans according to product and investor guidelines
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as investor requirements
• Perform risk assessments of credit and collateral to maintain loan saleability and sound credit quality

Required qualifications:

• Associates degree or 2 years of relevant experience
• Three years of mortgage processing or underwriting experience
• Comprehensive understanding of investor guidelines and ability to interpret AUS findings
