Job Summary

Seeking a full-time America Editor, West, this position will lead a team of reporters covering significant political, social, and cultural issues in the U.S., with a focus on innovative storytelling and collaboration, while working remotely from the Pacific or Mountain time zones.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute stories that illuminate key issues affecting American life and hold the powerful accountable
• Drive coverage of major breaking news events, coordinating correspondents and planning ongoing coverage
• Collaborate with visuals and audience editors to create compelling, innovative storytelling that engages readers

Required qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional journalism experience
• A proven track record of editing or reporting with distinction
• A vision for enhancing national coverage to attract new audiences
• Strong collaborative spirit and communication skills
• Supervisory experience is a significant advantage
