Job Summary

Providing professional interpreting services in healthcare settings, the remote Amharic Interpreter will work as an independent contractor, conducting assignments via phone or Zoom based on demand and qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and clear interpretation between Amharic and English in medical, legal, and community contexts
• Collaborate effectively with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to meet communication needs
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate regular assignments based on demand

Required qualifications

• Fluency in both Amharic and English
• Demonstrated experience in providing interpretation services in various settings
• Formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Access to a reliable phone, computer, and stable high-speed internet connection
• Willingness to obtain necessary medical clearances and background checks
