Android Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on enhancing the Android ecosystem, the full-time Android Engineer will develop, maintain, and evolve Rive's open-source Android runtime while working remotely and collaborating with engineering, product, and customers to ensure high-performance integration across diverse devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Rive's Android runtime, including building APIs and ensuring performance across the Android ecosystem
• Troubleshoot complex issues, ensuring graphics present as expected and diagnosing performance pitfalls
• Collaborate with customers to provide guidance, capture lessons learned, and support documentation efforts for a comprehensive developer experience

Required qualifications

• Experience in Android application development using Kotlin
• Proven background in library development, including version management and change logs
• Familiarity with native development, specifically NDK and JNI binding
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on performance optimization techniques
• Empathy for developers and understanding of creating a great SDK experience
