Android Framework Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking an Android Framework Engineer to join the Device OS Team in a full-time remote capacity, responsible for developing system services and hardware abstractions for AI-driven cameras in embedded systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain versioned service interfaces via AIDL/HIDL for headless Kotlin applications
• Implement testable service functionalities in Rust/C++ and optimize power and performance for embedded systems
• Contribute to system apps and services development, ensuring compatibility across multiple platforms

Required qualifications

• Experience with AOSP development and custom SDKs for Android
• Strong programming skills in Kotlin/Java, with knowledge of coroutines and threading concepts
• Familiarity with the Android build system and best practices for API design
• Proficiency in debugging custom Android hardware and analyzing app code across different layers
• Experience with system app development methodologies and design patterns
