Job Summary

To support the anesthesia departments, the full-time remote Anesthesia Coder will review medical documentation, assign appropriate coding for diagnoses and procedures, and ensure compliance with billing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed coding of anesthesia services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines
• Conduct chart audits and resolve coding edits and denials, providing feedback to healthcare providers
• Maintain coding credentials and participate in education for providers and co-workers regarding coding practices

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience of at least 2 years
• Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, COC, CCS)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in anesthesia coding/auditing within a surgical environment
• Advanced proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, ASA, and HCPCS coding
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and insurance reimbursement policies
