Apache Kafka Engineer
Job Summary
To support a client's data integration needs, the contract Apache Kafka Engineer will work remotely for 10 months, focusing on implementing Change Data Capture solutions and managing Kafka ecosystem components.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and manage Change Data Capture solutions using Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform components
- Integrate Kafka pipelines with various databases and cloud services, including Amazon Redshift and AWS S3
- Deploy and troubleshoot Kafka applications in OpenShift and Kubernetes environments
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Change Data Capture technologies
- Strong expertise in Confluent Platform and Kafka architecture, including Source and Sink Connectors
- Experience with JDBC Source and Sink Connectors and integrating databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with Apache Iceberg and Kafka Iceberg Sink Connectors
- Proficient in Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting
