API Authentication Developer
Job Summary
Supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project, the full-time API Authentication Developer will work remotely to define API design standards, maintain API contracts, and implement security practices across multiple teams focused on API Management and Security.
Key responsibilities
- Define API design standards and review APIs for consistency and usability
- Author and maintain OpenAPI Specification contracts and validation standards
- Implement authentication and authorization patterns, including JWT issuance and validation
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience with API management and security, including AWS API Gateway and JSON-based APIs
- Experience with identity technologies such as Active Directory and JWT-based authentication
- Experience supporting Kubernetes environments and containerized workloads
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex API and performance issues
