API Developer
Job Summary
To support the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time API Developer will design, develop, and maintain APIs, ensuring seamless integration with various software systems in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Define and document API specifications, endpoints, data models, and protocols such as REST and GraphQL
- Build and implement APIs using programming languages and frameworks including Java and Python
- Monitor and optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability while providing ongoing support and troubleshooting
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
- 5 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Advanced proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Git, Java REST Web Service, Spring Boot, and SQL
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
