API Developer Lead
Job Summary
A company is looking for an API Developer Lead to support the VA Lighthouse Program in transforming access to critical VA data through secure, scalable APIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Kong Gateway, including routes, services, and plugins
- Define API standards, review API designs, and manage OpenAPI contracts and governance
- Implement CI/CD workflows and deliver observability through API metering and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Production experience administering Kong Gateway
- Strong API design background with expert-level OpenAPI skills
- Experience with Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting
- DevOps practices including GitOps and CI/CD automation
- Authentication expertise with JWT and enterprise identity systems
