API Engineer

Job Summary

Designing and implementing integration patterns, the full-time remote API Engineer will support the technical implementation of the Scheduling Event Bus and manage external system connections while ensuring API security and onboarding processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supports the technical implementation of the Scheduling Event Bus and manages all external system connections
• Designs and implements standardized event schemas and message contracts, ensuring backward compatibility
• Implements enterprise security requirements for API integrations, including encryption and access controls

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field
• 3 years of experience in API engineering and enterprise integration
• Excellent experience with AWS MSK (Kafka), AWS Kinesis, and event-driven architectures
• Strong knowledge of API security controls, including OAuth 2.0 and role-based authorization
• Experience with multi-region API routing strategies and fault-tolerant messaging architecture
