API Lifecycle Automation Developer

Job Summary

Transforming manual API onboarding into automated developer self-service, the remote Application / API Lifecycle Automation Developer will design and implement a Developer Portal and automated workflows integrated with IRS CI/CD pipelines while achieving significant reductions in manual steps and enhancing API governance.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current EAG automation capabilities and establish baselines within 60 days
• Design and implement a Developer Portal with an API catalog, documentation, and access request workflows
• Achieve and maintain a minimum 75% reduction in manual API onboarding steps and a 90% automated onboarding success rate

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining API lifecycle automation workflows and developer portals
• Proficiency in API gateway automation, including configuration-as-code and policy enforcement
• Experience integrating with enterprise CI/CD pipelines within a DevSecOps framework
• Familiarity with developer portal platforms such as Backstage, Kong, or Apigee
• Knowledge of Zero Trust API security principles and observability tooling like AppDynamics and ELK stack
