API Lifecycle Automation Developer

Job Summary

Transforming manual API onboarding into automated developer self-service, the full-time SME Application / API Lifecycle Automation Developer will design and implement a Developer Portal, automate onboarding workflows, and ensure compliance with Zero Trust requirements while working primarily remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess current EAG automation capabilities and establish baselines within 60 days of award
• Design and implement a Developer Portal, including searchable API catalog and automated onboarding workflows integrated into IRS-approved CI/CD pipelines
• Achieve and maintain a minimum 75% reduction in manual API onboarding steps and a 90% automated onboarding success rate

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, developing, and maintaining API lifecycle automation workflows and developer portals
• Experience with API gateway automation, including configuration-as-code and policy enforcement
• Integration experience with enterprise CI/CD pipelines within a DevSecOps framework
• Familiarity with developer portal platforms such as Backstage, Stoplight, or Apigee
• Knowledge of Zero Trust API security principles and observability tooling like AppDynamics and ELK stack
