API Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project, the full-time API Platform Engineer will work remotely to define API design standards, maintain API contracts, and implement security practices across multiple teams focused on API management and platform engineering.
Key responsibilities
- Define API design standards and review APIs for consistency, usability, and backward compatibility
- Author and maintain OpenAPI Specification contracts and govern associated API configuration standards
- Implement CI/CD and GitOps practices, including automated configuration validation and API metering
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Hands-on experience with API management and security, including AWS API Gateway and JWT-based authentication
- Experience supporting Kubernetes environments and working with Linux systems and containerized workloads
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex API, platform, and performance issues
- Experience with identity and directory technologies, including Active Directory and LDAP
