Application Engineer

Job Summary

Building and evolving wildfire resilience and utilities platforms, the full-time remote Application Engineer will design, develop, and deploy full-stack features using Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView, JavaScript, and Postgres, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance decision support applications for community protection and land management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features across the core wildfire resilience platform and utilities applications
• Work with large geospatial datasets to provide insights for forest planning and treatment outcomes
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and iteration based on user feedback

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications
• Proficiency in Elixir, including OTP
• Proficiency with relational databases (Postgres preferred) and SQL, including schema design and query optimization
• Demonstrated ability to ship features end-to-end in a collaborative environment
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
