Application Engineer

Job Summary

Building and evolving a wildfire resilience platform, the full-time remote Application Engineer will design, implement, and deliver full-stack features using Elixir, Phoenix, and Postgres while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support community protection and utility management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features across the Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView and Postgres stack for wildfire resilience and utilities applications
• Work with large geospatial datasets to provide insights for forest planning and treatment outcomes
• Partner with Product and Design teams to scope and deliver user-facing workflows for land managers and partner organizations

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with production web applications
• Proficiency in Elixir, including OTP
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred) and SQL, including schema design and query optimization
• Demonstrated ability to ship features end-to-end in a collaborative environment
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
