Application Scheduler

Job Summary

Responsible for scheduling and monitoring critical applications, the full-time remote Application Scheduler will design and maintain batch schedules using IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IzWS), ensuring smooth operations and adherence to service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain batch schedules for various applications using IzWS
• Monitor scheduled jobs, proactively identifying and resolving failures or performance issues
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize job flows and perform root cause analysis for job failures

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IzWS) or similar enterprise scheduling tools
• Strong understanding of mainframe concepts and JCL
• Experience with scripting languages such as REXX or JCL Procedures is a plus
• Familiarity with ITIL processes related to incident, problem, and change management is desirable
