Job Summary
Leading a team of 12 security engineers, the full-time remote Application Security Director will oversee code audits, vulnerability research, and secure design reviews while ensuring the practice's financial performance and team development.
Key responsibilities
- Own the quality and profitability of engagements, reviewing findings and guiding technical direction on complex audits
- Manage project assignments, engineer development, and staffing decisions to balance client needs and profitability
- Champion the integration of AI tools into workflows and support team members' career advancement through research and conference presentations
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in security with significant expertise in source code audits
- Recent hands-on security work, including code review and vulnerability research, within the last 12 months
- Experience leading a team of 8+ engineers with direct financial accountability
- Proficiency in at least 4 programming languages such as Rust, Go, Python, C/C++, Solidity, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Track record of managing project profitability and staffing decisions in a consulting environment
