Application Security Engineer

Job Summary

Collaborating with product and engineering teams, the remote full-time Application Security Engineer will assess application security risks, support vulnerability management efforts, and contribute to tooling and automation to enhance security practices across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Identify application security risks and communicate them as business risks with recommended next steps
• Review application code and contribute small code changes or automation to improve security workflows
• Evaluate vulnerabilities and assist in prioritizing remediation efforts based on real-world risk

Required qualifications

• 0-2+ years of experience in application security, software engineering, or related fields
• Foundational programming ability in languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Kotlin
• Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and code review processes
• Some hands-on experience with software security, including internships or personal projects
• Basic understanding of common web and application security risks, including OWASP Top 10 issues
