Applied AI Engineer

Job Summary

To support Carrot's Enterprise Technology team, the full-time remote Applied AI Engineer will design, build, and deploy production-grade AI and integration solutions, ensuring reliable access to core product and operational data while collaborating with internal teams to address data access needs and workflow challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with internal teams to identify data access gaps and prototype AI-powered solutions, managing the full delivery lifecycle
• Architect and build agentic AI systems that produce reliable outcomes in complex business processes, ensuring compliance and data governance
• Write high-quality, production-grade code and develop MCP servers to expose structured access to Carrot's core data for AI tools and agents

Required qualifications

• 6-10 years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in data structures, system design, SQL, and application integration
• Proven track record of shipping production software, demonstrating ownership of reliability and operational health
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI systems, including LLM orchestration and MCP server development
• Programming fluency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript; familiarity with Ruby is a plus
• Strong command of SQL and experience with enterprise applications like Salesforce or NetSuite
