Applied AI Engineer
Job Summary
To support an external software development organization, the remote Applied AI Engineer will build and operate AI capabilities across an enterprise platform, focusing on production systems and collaborating with product and engineering teams to ensure effective AI solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Build and operate AI capabilities, including agent runtimes, model routing, and production quality controls
- Evaluate AI behavior rigorously and monitor production AI systems for performance improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize business value and deliver reliable AI features
Required qualifications
- Experience shipping software backed by LLMs, ML models, or agentic workflows to production users
- Strong understanding of RAG, prompt design, and evaluation approaches
- Experience building evaluation harnesses and measurable AI performance frameworks
- Ability to treat cost, latency, reliability, and safety as critical engineering constraints
- Strong software engineering skills with experience in client-facing consulting environments
