Applied Economist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Applied Economist, Marketplace Expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain predictive models to forecast marketplace performance in new geographies
• Validate forecasts against historical data and analyze retention and utilization trends
• Partner with Finance and Operations to translate analysis into actionable recommendations

Required Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience building predictive models in Python or R
• Experience with statistical foundations such as hypothesis testing and causal inference
• Familiarity with B2B marketplaces, staffing, or service platforms
• Proficient in SQL for data extraction and exploration
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and make reasonable assumptions with incomplete data
