Job Summary
To support sustainable aquaculture practices, the part-time Aquaculture Systems Specialist will design and implement closed fish farming systems (RAS) in Iraq, coordinating with stakeholders and providing capacity-building workshops, all while working remotely for a duration of three months with the possibility of extension.
Key responsibilities
- Develop technical specifications for RAS systems based on best practices and local feasibility
- Coordinate with FAO experts and stakeholders to oversee aquaculture activities and provide technical support
- Lead workshops and training sessions to build capacity among fish farmers and partners on sustainable aquaculture practices
Required qualifications
- Advanced university degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in RAS design, implementation, and project coordination
- Working knowledge of English
- Deep knowledge of RAS systems, fish nutrition, and sustainable aquaculture practices
- Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs
