Aquaculture Systems Specialist

Job Summary

To support sustainable aquaculture practices, the part-time National Aquaculture and Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) Specialist will design and implement closed fish farming systems tailored to Iraq's context, coordinating with stakeholders and providing capacity-building workshops, all while working remotely for a duration of three months with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed technical specifications for RAS systems based on global best practices and local feasibility
• Organize and facilitate stakeholder meetings and consultations while providing technical support for aquaculture activities
• Lead the design and delivery of workshops and training sessions on RAS and sustainable aquaculture practices

Required qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience in RAS design, implementation, and project coordination
• Working knowledge of English and Arabic
• National of Iraq
• Deep knowledge of RAS systems, fish nutrition, and sustainable aquaculture practices
