AR Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the AR Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged claims, research insurance issues, and ensure resolution of outstanding payments during a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 AM to 4:30 PM CST.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status via phone calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking actions to resolve issues for payment or closure
• Managing assigned patient balances and completing other related duties as needed

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is preferred, along with hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Strong problem-solving and research skills, with the ability to work independently
• Prior office experience where problem solving and research were key to success
• Ability to summarize important account details concisely in notes
