AR Refund Specialist

Job Summary

Reviewing accounts and identifying insurance overpayments, the full-time AR Refund Specialist will evaluate and verify refunds in a remote setting while collaborating with various departments to enhance revenue cycle efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Review refund requests from insurance payers to determine overpayments
• Resolve credit balances through account corrections and manual refund check requests
• Identify root causes of credit balances and collaborate with revenue cycle areas to improve processes

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting, business, finance, or equivalent training and experience
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare/managed care environment
• 1 year of experience with complex refunds to insurance
• Knowledge of physician reimbursement and managed care claim payment issues
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis related to physician reimbursement
