AR Refund Specialist

Job Summary

Reviewing insurance accounts and identifying overpayments, the full-time AR Refund Specialist will evaluate refund requests and ensure compliance with policies while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review refund/overpayment requests to determine overpayment occurrences
• Resolve credit balances through account corrections and manual refund check requests
• Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to identify trends and improve efficiency in handling credit balances

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting, business, finance, or equivalent experience in revenue management within healthcare
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare or managed care environment
• 1 year of experience handling complex refunds to insurance
• Knowledge of physician reimbursement and managed care claim payment issues
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis related to physician reimbursement
