Job Summary
Offering a fully remote opportunity, the full-time Arizona Licensed Acute Care Coder will analyze medical records to assign ICD-10 CM diagnoses and ICD-10 PCS procedures while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Analyzes medical records to accurately code diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with national coding guidelines
- Abstracts clinical diagnoses and procedure codes, ensuring complete records by seeking out missing information
- Provides coding quality assurance for medical records, ensuring compliance with coding rules and regulations
Required qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent with specialized training in medical record keeping principles
- Active certification as a CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA with AHIMA or AAPC
- Three or more years of inpatient coding experience in an Acute Care facility
- Knowledge of ICD-10 CM and PCS coding principles
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting using common office programs and coding software
