Arizona Licensed Litigation Counsel

Job Summary

Providing strategic and operational leadership, the full-time Arizona Licensed Litigation Counsel will oversee the claims and litigation management team, implement best practices, and offer legal guidance on risk management and high-exposure claims while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and direct the management of liability claims and litigation, ensuring effective procedures and reporting
• Provide legal advice and direction to Claims Directors on high-exposure cases, overseeing trial preparations and negotiations
• Collaborate with senior leaders to develop system-wide risk management strategies and monitor claims trends

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Completion of a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and admission to at least one state bar
• Five to seven years of medical professional liability management experience
• Minimum of two to three years of management-level experience in a healthcare system or complex corporate environment
• Expert-level knowledge of claims management principles and practices
