Art Buyer

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Art Buyer/Art Producer for a 12-month engagement to commission engaging and content-driven illustrations for language arts curriculum products for Grades K-8.

Key Responsibilities:

• Find and present appropriate illustration styles for review
• Commission and manage illustration procurement from concept to finish
• Work independently within a highly collaborative environment and explore diverse illustrators and subjects to address issues of inequity in education

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or comparable experience
• Familiarity with a diverse range of illustrators and agents, especially those working with educational publishers
• Experience in educational publishing and/or children's media is a plus
• Knowledge of age-appropriate illustration styles and sensitivity to issues of equity and diversity
• Ability to negotiate illustration fees, generate project budgets, and maintain accurate tracking of assignments, fees, due dates, and contracts
