Art Director, Book Covers

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Art Director for Book Covers.

Key Responsibilities

• Art direct, design, and manage a list of 10 to 20 book titles per season from concept to finished cover
• Commission and direct freelance illustrators and photographers for cover art production
• Compile editorial feedback and guide art direction through all phases of art development

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 8-10 years of design experience within publishing or a similar industry, including 3 years of art directing
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator)
• Strong interest and familiarity with the Christian Book market
• Evidence of fine design sense and typography sensitivity
• Experience commissioning artwork from freelance illustrators and designers
