Job Summary

Providing professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings, the independent contractor American Sign Language Interpreter (Remote) will conduct assignments through phone or Zoom, offering a flexible work schedule based on demand.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and clear interpretation between American Sign Language (ASL) and English in medical, legal, and community contexts
• Collaborate effectively with diverse individuals, including medical professionals, patients, and community organizations
• Manage remote assignments from a quiet, private workspace while ensuring compliance with necessary medical clearances

Required qualifications

• Fluency in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Demonstrated experience in providing interpretation in various settings with high fidelity
• Formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Reliable phone, laptop or desktop computer, and stable high-speed internet connection
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances and background checks as necessary
