Assistant Controller

Job Summary

To support scalable operations and strong internal controls, the full-time remote Assistant Controller will lead the accounting team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain audit-ready financials in a fast-growing organization.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Staff Accountant team, providing coaching and feedback
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and consolidate financial statements and reports while maintaining audit-ready schedules and documentation

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in high growth, SaaS, fintech, or benefits sectors
• Prior experience leading or reviewing the work of junior accounting staff
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
• Experience with sales tax compliance and multistate operations
