Assistant Controller

Job Summary

To support top-tier clients in the Venture Capital & Private Equity space, the full-time remote Assistant Controller will manage client relationships, oversee financial reporting and compliance, and mentor junior team members while ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for multiple clients, managing workflow and coordinating tasks among team members
• Drive the month-end close process, prepare and review quarterly financial statements, and maintain general ledgers in accordance with US GAAP
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members while proactively seeking opportunities for personal growth and development

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in the alternative asset industry, preferably in Venture Capital or Private Equity
• In-depth understanding of US GAAP and partnership accounting, including complex allocation waterfalls
• Experience in a client-facing role leading engagements for multiple clients
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Xero or Quickbooks
• External auditor experience, CPA certification, or MBA is a plus
