Assistant Controller - Massachusetts

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Assistant Controller who is eager to expand their expertise in financial planning and analysis while leveraging their strong foundation in SaaS accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Prepare and review financial statements and support audits as a primary liaison with external auditors

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years in public accounting audit or 5-7 years as a Staff Accountant in corporate accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals and financial statement mechanics
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Hands-on SaaS accounting experience, particularly in revenue recognition and deferred commissions
• A genuine interest in developing FP&A skills such as forecasting and financial modeling
