Job Summary

A company is looking for an Associate Director of Bioinformatics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of bioinformatics software engineers, including workload planning and mentorship
• Oversee software design, architecture discussions, and ensure adoption of engineering best practices
• Act as the primary liaison between the bioinformatics engineering team and cross-functional stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Strong Python engineering skills for production-quality software development
• Experience with next-generation sequencing data and clinical genomics pipelines
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical design and provide meaningful code reviews
• Experience in a regulated clinical setting is preferred
